How to set up a Flash Call verification

This guide is dedicated to the fastest, safest and cheapest method of two-factor authentication for users: Flash Call.

We will explain how to set up a Flash Call feature using the Messaggio dashboard.

Follow this algorithm to set up automated verification phone calls that will be received by the user’s gadget during website log-ins, WiFi connections, online payments, or other actions:

  1. Create a Messaggio account. Go through the four registration steps, following the interface tips. During the last step (“Communication channels”) choose Flash Call as the Sender and click “Send for Moderation”. As soon as the Sender passes moderation (usually in a maximum of two days), the ACTIVE status will appear next to it.
  2. Go to the Sender’s ID “General information” section and submit the following:
    • The Sender Code for API;
    • The Project’s login;
    • The Project’s secret key.

    Use this data for your system to send a Flash Call request.

    For the verification step, use a Flash Call request to Messaggio, inputting a user phone number, the Sender Code for API, the Project’s login, the Project’s secret key, and 4 random digits.

    A user will receive a phone call from Messaggio’s pool of numbers, where the last 4 digits will be the ones you generated.

    Ask the user to enter those digits into your website form.

  3. Track your monthly Flash Call request statistics through the “Sender’s detail” section. To set up the filters more precisely, go to the “Statistics” section.

VK Sender ID requirements

Messages are sent on behalf of the VK community.

When creating a VK Sender ID, enter the name of your VK community in the «Name» field. Click «Save».

To verify a Sender ID for messaging, send your personal manager:

  • A link to the community on behalf of which messages will be sent (the group may not be verified).
  • A letter from the group’s owner granting Messaggio the right to send messages.

After verifying your data, the VK Sender’s ID will be activated.

Once the name is activated, you can start creating your message template.

WhatsApp Sender ID requirements

WhatsApp Sender ID is the name of the brand on behalf of which the customer is receiving the message. WhatsApp bulk sms Sender ID is displayed in the user’s WhatsApp chat list and has a green verification checkmark if the name has been approved by the messenger.

WhatsApp message Sender’s ID can only contain Latin characters and cannot include all capital letters except abbreviations. The Sender ID must be at least 3 characters long. URL format is prohibited.

To send messages to WhatsApp, you need to have a Facebook Business Manager account.

Facebook Business Manager ID is a unique identifier for your Facebook Business Manager account. If you don’t have a Facebook Business Manager account, please create one: https://www.facebook.com/business/.

In the created Facebook Business Manager account go to «Company Settings / Company Information». Copy the ID from the «Business Manager ID» field. Paste the ID into the «Facebook Business Manager Id» field in Messaggio.

Fill in all the fields following the prompts on the interface. Click «Save Changes».

How to verify a WhatsApp business account

To receive a Verified Badge, you should fill in:

  • WhatsApp Business Application Form
  • Verified Badge WhatsApp Application Form

A personal manager will send the questionnaires after you create a WhatsApp Sender ID in your dashboard.

Once the Sender ID is activated, you can start creating your message template.

SMS Sender ID requirements

The name of the SMS Sender ID can contain numbers or Latin characters (A-Za-z0-9 .- + * () [], # _ space) from 3 to 11 characters.

To verify the right to the Sender ID, you will need the following documents:

  • Registration certificates in connection with trademarks
  • License agreement / franchise agreement
  • Certificate of registration of a legal entity
  • A document confirming the compliance of the website domain with the selected name (subject to confirmation of the rights to this website from the domain registrar)
  • Permission to use the domain from the copyright holder / agreement on the transfer of rights, if the domain owner is an individual, even if he is a director or founder of a company
  • Letter of guarantee, if the telecom carrier is MTS (only for individual entrepreneurs, letters from legal entities are not necessary).

Submit documents to your personal manager.

Fill in all the fields following the prompts on the interface. Click «Send for moderation».

After activation, the Sender ID will be considered approved by the telecom carrier.

Once the Sender ID is activated, you can start creating your message template.

Viber Sender ID Requirements

Viber Sender ID must be no more than 35 characters in any language.

Service integration type

When creating a Viber Sender ID, you need to specify the type of Sender ID integration.

  • Broadcast (1WAY) – The recipient cannot reply to business messages.
  • Chat (2WAY) – the recipient can reply to business messages.
  • Session — the recipient can reply to business messages, and the business can continue the conversation by sending messages without the verification of the messenger within 24 hours of the user’s response. The type of Sender ID integration

The integration type is configured at the Project level and applies to all Viber Sender IDs in the project. To set up an integration type:

  1. Open the settings of the project where the Viber Sender ID is registered.
  2. In the “Edit Project” – “API Settings” section, enter the Messages Callback URL in the corresponding field. Click “Save changes”.

The specified URL will receive incoming messages from users to all active Viber Sender IDs in the project.

Company details

Specify the Service Registered Country and company type. Your site should contain information that the company operates in this particular country.

Prepare a company official letter in English and Russian, in which the company agrees to comply with the Viber messaging rules and applicable laws. The format of the letter is pdf.

You can ask your personal manager for an example of a letter.

Upload the letter to your personal account in a special form.

After filling in all the fields, click «Send for moderation».

When the Sender ID will be activated, it will be considered approved by Viber and will receive a verification checkmark.

Once the Sender ID is activated, you can start creating your message template.

How to change the Sender ID after activation

Self-editing of the activated Sender ID is impossible without agreement with the provider. Contact your personal manager.

You can turn off the Sender ID: click on the Sender ID and in the «Sender actions» section, click «Deactivate».

Then, in the pop-up window, specify the deactivation day and confirm the request for deactivation by clicking «Request deactivation».

Most telecom operators do not charge a subscription fee for using Sender IDs. Therefore, you can send messages from your Messaggio dashboard and pay only for messages. However, in order to get more favorable conditions for sending SMS, you can use the Sender IDs on a monthly basis.

At Messaggio, you can choose the most suitable payment model. There are two types of symbolic signature available for the Sender’s ID: Multi-signature and Individual signature. Signatures are displayed to recipients in the same way, but they are charged differently.

The “Multi-signature” service does not require a subscription fee for the Sender’s ID, and the cost of a message is fixed and does not depend on the volume of mailing. Individual signature implies a monthly fee for the sender’s name, and the cost of a message depends on the volume of messaging per month. Tariffication for messages with an individual signature is carried out on a scale: the larger the volume of sent messages, the lower the cost of SMS. An exception is the MTS telecom operator, which provides the Sender’s ID only for a monthly fee, while the cost of an SMS is fixed and does not depend on the volume of messages sent.

When registering the Sender’s ID in your Messaggio dashboard, you select Multi-signature by default. This means you don’t have to pay a monthly fee, and messages are billed at a flat rate. Multi-signature is beneficial for small, irregular dispatches. Plus, it’s easy to budget for SMS marketing with Multi-signature.

However, Messaggio also offers another billing option — Individual signature. An individual signature is more suitable for large, regular dispatches: you pay a monthly subscription fee, but the larger the volume of messages sent, the cheaper the messaging cost. The subscription fee does not include the cost of sending messages. To find out the cost of a message for your messaging volume and to assess whether it is profitable to use an Individual Signature in your project, contact your Messaggio personal manager.

Subscription and message fees are charged by telecom operators. Payment is made in the personal account of the Messaggio messaging service provider in the «Balance» section.

You can easily optimize your messaging budget if you register individual signatures in the channels that are most active for you and use multi-signatures in the channels where you send out ad-hoc messages.

Viber
The monthly fee for a Viber Sender’s ID is 100 euros/month. For Russia, Belarus, Bulgaria, Greece, Hungary, Iraq, Moldova, Ukraine or messaging to several countries, the subscription fee is 150 euros/month.

The subscription fee for the Viber Sender ID includes the cost of messaging. Thus, 100 and 150 euros are the minimum messaging amounts. For example, if you carry out dispatches in Russia with a monthly subscription fee of 150 euros, you can send about 7,500 viber messages every month. If the cost of the volume of messages exceeds 150 euros, their delivery must be paid separately. Each message is charged according to the terms of Viber. If you send messages to several countries with different conditions for a monthly fee (100 and 150 euros), the minimum amount for sending will be 150 euros.

WhatsApp
The subscription fee for the WhatsApp Sender ID is 200 euros/month. Delivered messages are charged separately.

VK
There is no subscription fee for the name of the VK Sender ID. The dispatch is carried out on behalf of your VK community. Messages are sent to the user’s social network by the phone number that is linked to the profile, and are charged according to the terms of VKontakte.

How long does it take to check the application for Sender ID

The moderation period depends on the channel in which the Sender ID is registered.

  • Viber — 1-5 days
  • SMS — 3-15 days, depending on the mobile operator
  • WhatsApp — up to 10 days
  • VK — 1-3 days

As soon as you send the Sender ID for moderation, the status “MODERATION” will be displayed near it in the list of Senders’ ID. After activation, the status “ACTIVE” will appear near the Sender ID.

How to create a Sender ID

To start sending, you need to create a Sender ID in your Messaggio dashboard.
To create a Sender ID

You can create a Sender ID on the channel you would like to use for messaging. Sender moderation process depends on channel terms and requirements.

To create the Sender ID, go to the «Senders» section and click «Create».

Select a channel and enter the name which you want to use for messaging. The Sender’s ID must be consistent with the name of the legal entity, brand, line of business, or site domain.

Enter the sender profile details: website and description. Add a logo and chatscreen that will be displayed in your messenger business profile. The logo should be 130x130px. Acceptable formats for logo and chatscreen: * .jpg, * .png. The maximum file size is 4Mb.
