AJAX
This programming term is short for “asynchronous JavaScript and XML.” It allows multiple Web applications to send and retrieve data from a server in the background without interfering with the current display of the page (i.e. without having to reload). AJAX is not its own programming language but a way of using existing languages (HTML, XHTML, CSS, and JavaScript) together.
